Getting a Russian visa is not difficult if you respect the rules and provide all the necessary documents required by the Consulate or Embassy.
Usually, if you want to pay the cheapest price, your application will be processed within 2 weeks. For extra cost, you can get the visa in 1 day.
Depending on your country of residence, you might need to provide the following documents :
- passport photo
- passport valid 6 months after your return
- insurance confirmation valid in Russia for the date of the stay (not necessary from Swiss nationals)
- invitation or hotel voucher
- application form
Once you have booked your accommodation, you need to go to the Russian Consulate / Embassy of your country of residence to apply for the visa. Double-check the required documents before to go there.
Note that some credit cards already include in their annual fee a European Assistance (or equivalent) annual coverage. If the consulate accepts the insurance company, you need to ask your credit card customer service for a faxed confirmation of the validity of this insurance.
